In our community-based residency program, we train patient-centered, culturally-sensitive, compassionate family medicine physicians to provide quality care to the diverse patient population in Central Washington and beyond.

We are proud to announce that Community Health of Central Washington recently applied for and was awarded funding under the HRSA Primary Care Training and Enhancement – Language and Disability Access grant to support our training of CWFM residents in a curriculum that is meant to improve their ability to serve our rural Latinx community of Central Washington. Through this additional funding, we are developing a residency track program (LIDERES-LC) available to second- and third-year residents which will provide a focused residency curriculum that encompasses training on social determinants of health specific to the Latinx community, community engagement, service-based learning, Spanish language fluency development, and clinical rotations focused on serving Latinx patients of limited English proficiency.
